The Government have announced new measures to raise extra funding for the Metropolitan Police. The move has been endorsed by the Mayoral appointed New Chief Constable Lord Jeffery Archer.
During the past year Crack Cocaine with a street value of around £10.000,000 has been seized by the Police and Customs. The traditional method of disposal was to burn the offending material (apart from the few hundred kilos that was sold back to the dealers to line the pockets of bent coppers.) However, the practice of selling back was getting so big that the Government decided to adopt the practice as the norm. Now all Crack seized will be auctioned to the dealers with a 15% handling charge. This will not only raise funds but cut back on burning costs.
Lord Jeffery stated it was a Grand plan and would go down well with all his old " in mates"
Auctions will take place at Christies auction rooms ( Nine Elms) by appointment only on a monthly basis.
All dealers will be notified in advance.
Last night Gordon Brown confirmed that Britain had done a deal with Afghanistan to grow more poppies, he said this would ensure a steady supply for many years to come and may even raise enough cash to deal with the police overtime problem.
No dealers were available for comment.
