An American tourist was shot and killed by anti-terror police yesterday in London yesterday after what police described as "a serious breach of anti-terror laws'.
Tourist Hank Redneck, 57, was visiting the UK during a holiday with his family that was supposed to take them to all of the major tourist sites in London. Instead, their trip was tragically cut short after police spotted Mr Redneck acting suspiciously near Covent Garden.
Police described how Mr Redneck had been seen walking around the area in a new pair of recently purchased sandals, but had chosen to wear socks with his new sandals. A number of concerned members of the public had phoned police to report the gross fashion faux pas.
Marksmen from the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at around 11 am yesterday morning and surrounded Mr Redneck. Despite a number of warnings, Mr Redneck refused to take off his socks and was finally shot after a tense 2 hour stand-off.
Police commented that in addition to the sandal/sock violation, Mr Redneck was also found to be wearing a pair of tightly fitting bright red shorts and speaking in a very loud voice. They were left with no choice but to shoot him, rather than allow the fashion disaster to infect other members of the public.
