Greater Manchester Police arrested three men in Lancashire today, when they discovered that the trio wanted to kill ex-PM Tony Blair and present incumbent Gordon Brown.
Two of the arrests were made at Manchester Airport and the other in Accrington, where the local football team is called Accrington Stanley.
The airport at Manchester, known as Ringway, was officially opened on June 25th 1938, and has won numerous awards, including Travel Globe Weekly Awards' UK Best Airport 2008. It's the biggest UK airport outside of London, and, last year, handled more than 22 million passengers and nearly a quarter of a million aircraft movements.
The current Accrington Stanley were formed in 1968, but had to wait until 2006 before they were rewarded with League status, after they ended that season as Champions of the Nationwide Conference, replacing Oxford United, the very team that had replaced the original Accrington Stanley when they were relegated from the League in 1962!
The 'Stans' play in red shirts, white shorts and black socks, with a change strip of all blue, and stage their home games at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
Wake up, Coppers! More-or-less everyone in Britain wants to kill Blair and Brown!
