image for Algerian Immigrants Return To Algeria From UK

In Oran harbour this morning a boat with almost two hundred people arrived back from Great Britain. The people on the boat said they had been in Britain for only three weeks but they couldn't stay there any longer.

One of the "shipmates" was Noredine Sadr who went to the UK because she wanted to have the freedom that they have in the UK. She saw it on the TV.

But she wasn't welcome there. At the night she could hear the shouting and music outside the window and she was afraid. In the daytime all the people looked at her and laughed and shouted at her and she was more afraid. She decided to go back to Algeria.

A boy called Mahmoud Djebrileh told the reporter

"I was scared every day. English people wont let me live there peaceful. They want to laugh at me and shout at me and fight."

This morning the shipmates came off the boat and another one of them who was called Sharifa al-Nared said:

"We are so happy to come back! Home sweet home! Praise Allah!"
