Queen Elizabeth the Second has announced her intentions to go on strike. It is claimed that this is the first time a reigning monarch has withdrawn their 'Labour' since King Englebert of Humperdinck in the late 4th Century.
Information is sketchy however it is believed that the Queen is down to her last £3456 billion and is also protesting against the number of people who have lampooned her maj through satirical websites of late.
Prince Phillip is believed to have said that going on strike will teach 'the great unwashed a lesson'.
A Royal commentator yesterday commented 'the Queen is getting hard up and can no longer keep her Corgis in the manner to which they are accustomed' It is suggested, however, that the real reason for the strike is Mrs Queen's dislike of the tyrant Broon who now occupies 10 Downing Street.
Dr Hatred of the 'Get Rid Of The Queen' campaign reacted yesterday 'this is nothing new, Prince Edward has been on strike all his life; no-one has noticed and he still gets paid'
