Legendary lost city Atlantis has finally been discovered - by a little girl!

The famous city, subject of speculation, rumour and Disney movies for centuries, was spotted floating off the coast of Lincolnshire, less than a mile from popular working class resort Skegness.

Six year old Maisy May was looking out to sea through a telescope, when she caught sight of the metropolis bobbing along merrily towards France.

"I seed the city and I said Mummy look at the city in the water but Mummy told me to stop being silly and then I cried and then she looked and she seed it too and" said Maisy, a schoolgirl from Grantham.

Scientists, archaeologists, historians and divers from all over the globe are due to descend upon Skegness within the next 24 hours, an event welcomed by the local council.

"This really is fabulous news for Skeggy, and indeed the whole of Lincolnshire" said Councillor George "Nothing ever happens here, nothing, so you can imagine what a boon this is for us. We are arranging to have the city tethered to our beach so we can send holidaymakers out in boats to look at it."

Anyone wishing to see Atlantis can do so from Skegness Promenade. Admission is £14.40 for adults and £10.25 for concessions.

Make Anne Greaves's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
