image for UK Gets 'iPhone' Bank Holiday
Temporary PM Brown orders iPhone Holiday

Temporary Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, today showed that he was in touch with the people of the UK by proclaiming that this Saturday (13 Oct) will be the UK's first Saturday Bank Holiday.

The reason? iPhone-mania!

The iPhone will be available to anybody wishing to shell out a total of a mere £1000 over the next 18 months from Friday at 6.02pm (a nod to UK mobile service provider, O2). At 6.03pm, UK mobile service provider, Three, will be launching an rival product - a 3G phone that can actually retain a signal.

Meanwhile, Brown, the man who has waited longer for the Prime Minister's job than the rest of the country has waited for an iPhone, has decided that Brits will be so busy trying to unlock their iPhone on Saturday that there might as well be a Bank Holiday.

A spokesman for the British Airports Authority said "We have warned all airline operators that the UK is closed on Saturday and that planes will be turned back if they try to land".

Make Mark James's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
