After discovering some dated literature in the House of Commons, a recent speech made by Tony Blair did not help him in beginning his new term in office well. Not well at all.
The speech was set to detail his plans for the future, and the main theme of the speech was to look to the future, not to dwell on the past. However, in an ironic turn-around, Mr. Blair was made to look like, what can only be described as, a fool.
In the speech, Mr. Blair said, "...we should look to the future and forget the recent terrorist events that would have blown this very house to it's foundations. And it is our great police force, that brings terrorists like Guy Fawkes to justice!" Of course the event Mr. Blair had reffered to was the 'Gunpowder Plot', the events that occured some 396 years hence.
Whilst making the speech, the opposition parties met Tony with many "Yah, Boo's", however he stood strong, not to be deterred by jeering. However he was stopped from making an even bigger fool of himself by the house speaker. In a
taped statement given to TheSpoof by the office of Mr. Blair, we learned that he was considering his options, one of which is to decide whether he can continue to be Prime Minister. Mr. Blair is said to be "very embarrased" by the whole ordeal and will be adequately disciplining the proof readers.
