image for Cheese crisis continues
Police using line tactics to confuse drug dealers.

The police have continued to make arrests throughout northern England as police attempt to crackdown on the cheese dealing trade.

This is part of a nation-wide initiative to reduce the massive criminal network which makes over ten million pounds every years and keeps cheese farmers in France well paid.

France is currently suffering a massive food shortage, not because there is not enough land to grow food, but because the land has been turned over to cheese production. France is now importing thousands of tonnes of tulips from Holland in order to feed its population.

The UN has sent aid to France but the money is only going to line the pockets of the cheese producers. So it is fantastic news for the people of France that the cheese trade is being destroyed in Britain.

However is it really going to be destroyed? At the moment only about thirty percent of the cheese trade is run by these small dealers. The true cheese mongers are based in the west and south.

The Welsh Mafia is one of the biggest suppliers of cheese to Britain while around twenty percent is controlled by the National Trust. This means that the cut down on the small scale providers will have little effect on the industry at a whole.

So will the government get really tough or will they sit back and let the criminals continue.
