Channel 4 has been forced to drop the name of its Big Brother TV show in response to widespread criticism of its racist connotations.

Complaints from viewers have been pouring in to TV watchdogs claiming the word "brother" is only acceptable when used by black men in addressing each other and the term "big" alludes to the myth that black men have extra large genitalia.

The TV company confirms that the name will be changed with immediate effect. In an official press release they say, "Channel 4 does not condone the propagation of fucking racism in any form and considers it entirely appropriate to act swiftly to gain more media attention".

Suggestions of new names include "I'd Rather Watch Paint Drying", "Desperate Wannabes" and "Lewd Tarts".
