Transport Minister, Douglas Alexander, has unveiled radical plans to tackle the UK's congestion problems. This plan has been heralded as a new dawn in car parking and could arguably be the largest "Park and Ride" project on the face of the planet.
Basically, it involves Wales.
The entire country of Wales will, incredibly, become a "Park and Ride" car park.
Mr Alexander quotes:
"We have had some of our top people looking into this in a series of intensive think tanks over the years, and this is the end result. Some of the best specialists in this field feel that this is the only way forward to resolve traffic congestion over the next century"
Unemployment would be virtually eliminated in Wales as the populace of this fine country would become either car parking attendants or bus drivers ferrying people to England etc.
"Tarmac" have been approached to ascertain the feasibility of tarmacing the entire country within 5 years.
"National Carparks" are also watching developments with keen interest and appear enthusiastic to tender for the contract.
At the time of this story, rumours are abound with plans to turn Scotland into a theme park.
