The latest in a series of violent gang-related attacks in London has shocked local residents and heralded the blackest day in the area's history.
Fourteen youths were injured, one of them seriously, when an argument broke out between two gangs playing marbles at the Malcolm X flats in Catford.
The most seriously injured boy, Shadrach Black, 13, was accused of cheating and had a 'Superbolly' (a large ballbearing) forced up his back passage. Ambulance crews were called but were unable to retrieve it. Shadrach was immediately taken to the Royal Rodney King Police Beating Hospital, where he had to have his attitude amputated.
Another brother, Tevaughn Schwarz, 12, was alleged to have 'dissed' fellow marblist, Snoop Blackhead, also 12, and is currently on the run.
Tevaughn's mum, Noireen Blackname, has a different surname to her son's because she is the bitch of several men, and doesn't know which of them is Tevaughn's father.
"Tevaughn tinks he's a man wiv all this bravado, yeah? But he's ma baby. He still wets 'is bed. He ain't no trubblecawsa. He's ony got one gun, na'mean?"
Community leaders have been quick to condemn the attacks.
"This violence gotta stop. Iss the blackest black day of our entire black history", said Cllr Rastus Blackstock of local self-help group Negroes In Gangs Getting All Stroppy (N.I.G.G.A.S.), adding "You looking at me?"
Local resident Kunte Kinte Na'mean, who lives in Fearofhislife, in a run-down flat on the Amistad Legiron Housing Estate, said:
"Shabba! Terrible wha' gowinonere! Issa black black day for us blackies!"
City of London Police have issued a description of the boys they want to interview about this, or any other, incident. They are looking for a hundred black youths, aged between 4 and 19, wearing 'hoodies' and trainers.
They may have marbles in their pockets.
