The BBC has today pulled the plug on what it had hoped was going to be the saviour of kiddies TV, following a severe rap on the knuckles from TV watchdog OFCOM.
"Bumheads" was meant to be the natural successor to Tweenies but now the new loveable characters have been branded as too explicit for children. A spokesman for OFCOM told us:
"What were they thinking about for God's sake? These aren't loveable kiddies' characters! They're just arses with paper faces stuck to them! What's that all about?
This lot would be better placed on Channel 5 after 11 pm if you ask me. It's a fucking disgrace!"
But "Porno Palace" who recently, and some say controversially, won the production franchise for children's BBC commented:
"We can't see what all the fuss is about. There ain't anyfing in Bumheads what you couldn't show your old Gran. It's just namby-pamby Liberals meddling as usual"
