White House aides are in a state of shock over comments President Bush has made about UK kiddies TV icon Bob the Builder.
Bush, real name Mr President, was speaking off the record at a Republican fundraiser in Oklahoma when our American correspondent taped his astonishing diatribe.
Here's a transcript of part of the speech.
"This man is a bad role model for kids as he leads them to believe that everything can be fixed. That just ain't so. If they ever put it on BBC America then it will lead to American kids having heightened expectations.
Well we're in such a Goddamn mess here that things ain't ever gonna be mended. No sir!"
That pronouncement was met with muffled applause from the punters that were there but they didn't exactly lap it up like cats that got the cream.
Last night Neil Morrisey was said, by a source close to him, to be 'choked' and 'bogged off' with developments.
It's now reported that other UK kids' shows have gone into hiding. The Spoof got an exclusive comment from a Flumps insider who didn't want to be identified but who said:
"We're papping our pants here in case the President turns his wrath on us. The run-up to Xmas is an important time for us to flog our cuddly product"
