Lads' bags will not be sold in thousands of Ladl Stores after the company said that most lads look stupid with such bags.
Manufacturers of man-bags are angry that their new line in lads' bags is causing such a storm.
"We thought they were a good idea because lads would be able to buy sexy lads' magazines like PeaNuts and Bonko and hide them in their lads' bags," said Ivor Biggbagg, managing director of ManBags'R'Us.
Cyril Worthington, chief executive of the Ladl stores, said: "We have listened to complaints from customers, many of whom said they were offended at seeing lads and dads (and even granddads) with these stupid lads' bags in our stores.
And we have heard that some well-known topless models are refusing to appear in lads' mags if these mags are being sold alongside lads' bags."
"It's about time they stopped selling such stuff," said one local Ladl customer, Vera Fretwell. "Only last week I found three filthy lads' bags in our Kevin's bedroom. And he's only 15."
