In an astonishing development Prince Charles is under suspicion of trying to poison the Queen. Two suspect tubs of soup from the Prince's exclusive range have been taken for forensic analysis after it was discovered that the Queen's stomach bug had been caused by an unknown source.
She had devoured one of Charles' soups hours before falling ill with what was thought to be gastroenteritis, until tests showed a sinister substance had been devoured by the Queen.
Charles is being currently detained in the Tower of London and has been questioned about the soup which, apparently, he delivered to the Queen himself the day before she became ill. It was her favourite Horse and Corgi Special, made only for a few select people known for their pedigree preferences.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who is set to make major winnings on his bet that the Queen would go first, declared that 'The old woman has come a cropper in some suspicious way' but would not be drawn further.
It is believed that, if Charles is found guilty, he could have his subscription to The Beano cancelled and have to wear a silly hat of the Queen's choosing.
