Sir Patrick Moore has communicated from Space for a special Sky at Night presentation but the BBC is not interested in anything to do with Sky and Sky consider that there is no X-factor in Space.
Nonetheless those devoted to Spoof will know that such attitudes never deterred the intrepid travelllers to the unknown who are the Spoof's backbone.
So here are Sir Patrick's observations from 'somewhere in the stratosphere, I'm not sure where':
'Looking down on the world I can see trouble ahead as a comet from Jupiter is set on a path that will hit the Pentagon sometime in the next couple of years. However looking at the Moon I can see preperations for the tourist industry are getting under way with a Macdonalds already ememrging where they will be providing special pills to keep people going. It is hoped they will not be going too often.'
As for life out there Sir Patrick is still looking and feeling rather lonely. He hopes to train aliens in astronomy and is sure that an input from outer space could do earthbound mortals a power of good.
