A top Government minister popped his head over the battlements of castle parliament today and shouted:
"The Government should be allowed to waste taxpayers money!"
He quickly jerked his head back inside before any of the plebs could throw stones at him. Although the minister was unable to be found so that Back and to the Left news could ask him a couple of questions, it was discovered that his views did have a lot of support within the corridors and sacrificial chambers of Westminster. One of the interchangerbal men in suits that rule us said:
"We in Government need to be able to waste taxpayers money. If we can't how are we supposed to know whether or not we want gold plated toilet paper? Government like most things is all about trial and error. We need to "waste" millions of pounds finding out that self service methadone clinics don't work and then move onto the next project."
Back and to the Left news understands the need for some elements of trial and error in most walks of business. But in a business the money is "yours" in a government the money is "ours". It's not that we don't like giving foreign aid it's just we don't want to give it to a country that has a space program budget bigger than our NHS one.
