In a surprise ruling by Investigators the result of the match between Liverpool and Yorkshire Police was adjusted from a Police victory, caused by some supposed own goals by Liverpool, to a huge win for the Merseysiders by 96 to 0.
Match referee, Chief Constable Corruption, had been found to have altered the verdicts of linesmen no less than 96 times, making out that all Liverpool's goals were offside.
Corruption could not be found for a comment as he had retired but his replacement Chief Constable Hacker said 'We all make mistakes from time to time. I'm glad we now have the correct result and that Liverpool are not relegated to the 4th Division.'
Those newspapers who had gone along with the supposed Police victory apologised for getting everything wrong but suggested that 'any fool knows what some papers publish is bound to be lies'.
A search party sent out by the Police to find former Chief Constable Corruption, so he can answer some difficult questions, is currently waiting for confirmation from News International that he is working for them on their Crime Desk.
