The Stadium at the Olympic Velodrome erupted in ecstatic cries of Land of Hope & Glory as Stephen Mole, 12, won an amazing Gold in Tiddlywinks. Mole exclaimed that his feat was 'Unbelievable'.
Proud parents Oliver and Augusta Mole, speaking from their home in Crawley, explained that Stephen had always had a natural gift at 'the Winks' but it was hard training every evening for years that had brought Stephen his just reward.
The competition had been plunged into controversy as a Chinese Winker had been found to have taken drugs and another had been sent home for not trying hard enough.
This brings GB's Golden Tally to 38 - the highest ever. Prime Minister David Cameron congratulated Stephen and promised a Conservative outright win in the Polls as a national celebration.
Meanwhile Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, claimed that Tiddlywinks had now become centre stage in Britain's economic revival.
'When I am at the helm I will make sure that Tiddlywinks gets the respect it deserves' he told a flag waving audience of Bankers.
