image for Welsh Nationalists Up In Arms Over Corgi Pup-ularity Thanks To Queen's Jubilee
Should be Queen's favourite.

The Queen's favourite breed of dog has gained in popularity during her Diamond Jubliee year.

According to Kennel Club figures, after a period of decline, people are showing more interest in Pembroke Welsh Corgis.

Inquiries for puppies have increased by 37 per cent in the last four months.

A spokesman for the Kennel Club said; "It is a wonderful tribute to the Queen that the popularity of her chosen breed has increased in her Diamond Jubilee Year."

But leading Welsh nationalist Dai Offas-Dyke is furious: "Isn't it jest bled-dy marvellous, look you? First the bled-dy English take ower bled-dy water and now they're snap-ping up ower bled-dy dogs, isn't it?

"Why can't the bled-dy woman choose a bled-dy English pooch if she has to parade around with anything?

"Mind you, giv-ven that bled-dy family's bled-dy history, maybe she should have bled-dy German Shepherds, look you!"

Make Ellis Ian Fields's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
