Too Good To Be Glue is enjoying a new lease of life after being nursed back to fitness by the awe inspiring Derek Acorah. The ex Martin Pipe horse was involved in freak accident last August where he fell out the back of a horses box trailer and was hit by a Liquorish Allsorts lorry whilst on route to Uttoxeter Race Course. The nag who underwent a roadside amputation to his hind leg was expected to have run his last race, that was until Derek became involved in its rehabilitation.

Derek who himself has a personal phobia towards horses and indeed carrots after suffering a childhood incident involving a donkey on Blackpool Pleasure Beach was approached by top stable lad Billy Jodhpurs and asked if he could use his skills to reinstall some confidence back into the animal who by this time had become completely petrified to even stick his head out the door of his stable. Derek is said to have spent 3 weeks living, eating and sleeping with the horse whilst whispering secret words of encouragement to it. Derek said "it was just a case of self belief and as you know I'm a strong believer in If You Can Dream It You Can Achieve It and that was all the horse needed to hear."

Too Good To Be Glue who was the rank outsider for the race with some bookies giving odds exceeding 150,000/1 led the event from start to finish, eventually winning the contest by over 3 furlongs. "The other horses in the field just never had a hope in hells chance of competing with him" said Billy Jodhpurs "where we take him from here is entirely up to the owners, but whether it be the National at Aintree or the Gold Cup at Cheltenham, I personally believe you could chop another of his legs off and he'd still give any challengers a damn good thrashing!"

Make Ricardo Blue's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
