Yeti discovered: is this the missing link between humans and apes?

The mysterious and elusive Yeti, believed to be the missing link between humans and the great apes, has finally been discovered.

Standing seven feet and with thick white fur, the existence of this large primate thought to have evolved from the great apes over four million years ago had long been disputed but, yesterday, crypto-zoologists were granted their first glimpse of the rare creature when it stepped off a Eurostar from Brussels and requested political asylum.

Wearing a cream coloured lounge suit, a Panama hat and two-tone correspondence shoes, the Yeti, subsequently known to authorities as Mr Yeti, 46, claimed he fled his homeland of north-eastern Tibet a week before where he faced persecution for his views on saxophones in contemporary jazz.

The exact whereabouts of Mr Yeti since his arrival in Britain are unknown but it is believed he is living in a two-bedroom terraced house just off the North Circular, and is scheduled to start lecturing in applied law and socio-economic politics at Kings College sometime next month.
