Celebrating the great news at his Grandma's today

Manchester - The 21 year-old Premiership midfielder impressed during his Club's 3-2 Community Shield drubbing of Manchester City on Sunday.

His second half appearance was widely credited in setting up Nani's equaliser - and a crest-of-the-wave impetus culminating in an injury time winning goal.

His naming in England's August 10 squad sees Arsenal's Jack Wilshire and Man U's Michael Carrick sidelined 'on aesthetic grounds'. (WTF? - Ed)

Commenting on the youngster's call up Man U boss Sir Alex Ferguson said today he'd always believed in the ex-Wigan Athletic star.

"He's the dogz bollox," Ferguson explained.

"Always rated him for the England cap."

Born on the 'Glorious Twelfth' of August Cleverley was praised in June by Sir Alex for his 'movement and understanding of space....really good for a young player'.

Wednesday's friendly kicks off at 7pm.
