Following the announcement that Manchester City's sponsors, Etihad have had a 737 painted in Manchester City's colours and emblazoned with the club crest, rivals united have announced that they have retaliated by getting a nuclear submarine, painted in similar fashion, in the club's red, white and black livery.
It is thought that City's sponsored plane will fly the team to various away fixtures both at home and abroad, and that fans will be able to fly on the plane between such times along scheduled routes.
City fans are delighted with the club's latest acquisition, which is seen as a symbolic representation of the club's soaring ambition and quest to reach for the sky.
Speaking outside Old Trafford, a United insider and lifelong fan, Donald Skoob, said:
"It's a cheap publicity stunt by the bluenoses, that's all. The reason United got the nuclear sub is an ironic statement. There's about as much chance of City reaching for the clouds as there is of United sinking. They're fucking delusional, that lot."
More as we get it.
