Footballer Wayne Rooney has confirmed he has had a hair transplant at a top London clinic in a bid to restore his receding locks to their former glory. "I was going bald at 25, so why not?" the Manchester United and England striker told us.
Rooney said he had his treatment at a hair clinic on London's famous Harley Street.
Andrew Barton, stylist to the UKs biggest stars and famous for his appearances on Trinny and Suzanna's shows, was less enthusiastic.
"Transplanted from where?" he points out. "His knuckles? I agree that the 'before' pictures were like a bad advert for chemotherapy, but to be honest Wayne Rooney getting a Hair Transplant... I mean, it's like putting a thatched roof on an outside toilet... It might keep the flies off, but ultimately there's still a large turd underneath. It's like sprinkling a turd in glitter... "
Rooney is unrepentant. "Well, I was afraid that hair-loss was going to ruin my looks."
