Award winning rock band Keane have thrown their hat in the ring for the West Ham manager's job left vacant after Avram Grant's sacking.
Lead singer Tim Rice-Oxley explained :
"Although we come from East Sussex, we became very fond of the Hammers while studying at University College and we still go to see them as often as we can.
"Quite a few of our numbers were heavily influenced if not actually inspired by the Clarets. e.g. 'Bend And Break, Leaving So Soon ?, A Bad Dream, Put It Behind You, Try Again, Broken Toy, Spiralling & Better Than This' to name just a few".
"Its understood that the group's next single will be an updated version of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles".
Sources close to Keane suggest that, should their application be successful, they will still carry out their management duties even when they're on tour. On these occasions, they'll hold their training sessions and team talks on Skype.
Keane are still confident that , whataver the hurdles to them doing their job, they'll still be able to do better than Avram Grant.
