A former BBC employee has shocked the footballing world by claiming that he once saw football pundit Alan Shearer wearing a shirt that didn't have any of these stupid epaulettes on the shoulders.
Lesley Agnew, who was a production assistant on BBC's flagship programme "Match Of The Day" from 2001 to 2010, makes the sensational claims in a "kiss and tell" book that's due to come out later this year.
Agnew reveals that on one Saturday night in 2009, he walked into Shearer's dressing room unannounced and witnessed the former England hitman "walking around the room wearing a John Francomb shirt. There was not an epaulette in sight. Alan made no attempt to hide the fact but did swear me to secrecy".
Agnew is set to blow the lid off some more of the myths that have grown up around the programme including the outrageous suggestion that Mark "Lauro" Lawrenson is sometimes funny, Alan "Alan" Hansen actually rates some Premiership defenders and Gary Lineker is not perfect.
