Dundee United midfielder Morgaro Gomis has been banned for 3 games and fined a month's wages after being found guilty by an SFA tribunal of assaulting a player and leaving the scene of the crime.

The tribunal found that on February 19th at Tynecastle Park, Gomis collided with Hearts forward Ryan Stevenson - in the process of which Stevenson sustained a badly sprained ankle - and ran away without reporting the incident to the referee.

The authorities were not aware of the incident until the next day when the referees adviser made his report , upon receipt of which the tribunal viewed TV coverage of the game which clearly showed Gomis to be the culprit.

Gomis' solicitor Paul di Angelino claimed that his client "had examined Stevenson to see if there was any injury but only ascertained that he himself had sustained a slight knock. Mr Gomis then left the scene and continued with the match".

Make grimbo's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
