image for Barnsley Promoted to Premier League
Barnsley Football Club

In a surprise move the Football Association have promoted Barnsley to the Premier League.

Suggestions that this might have been a reward to the great town for ditching the LibDems in a Bye election and putting the Tories beneath UKIP, were hotly denied by FA Officials.

Several teams have offered to vacate their position in the Premier League so Barnsley can be established in the Premier League immediately and several free transfers have been agreed.

The LibDems lost deposit has been found and given to Barnsley FC in a bid by Nick Clegg to fight back against the tide of loathing he has found on Barnsley doorsteps.

The British Film Council in a final expression of their feelings for the Coalition Government have given their backing to a film destined for Oscars next year entitled 'Barnsley and the Royal Divorce' starring Colin Firth.

Rupert Murdoch has issued a statement: 'Well done Barnsley! All your matches will be free on Sky Sports.'

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
