Tony Romo, whom the Dallas Cowboys thought would lead them into two or three Super Bowls, may be leaving as Dallas may look for a top draft choice or trade for that position.
"I know he's popular here", stated our source, "but Romo has never delivered on his promise. We really had high hopes for that kid."
"That Kid" is now 30 years old and time may be running out on him. Last year Romo spent most of his time on the sidelines after being hurt early in the season.
There are those among the coaches that say that while Romo may recover from the injury, he does not have that "spirit of competition" and confidence of the great quarterbacks at Dallas.
"I'm sure he tries", stated the source. "Maybe he has been trying too hard. But coming back from a season-ending injury will only make him try even harder."
Plus there have always been Cowboy fans who say Romo is too busy being out with the dames and being in the Hollywood spotlight to keep his mind seriously on football and winning another Super Bowl for the Cowboys.
"This past week he was reportedly playing golf and at a high school basketball game", stated a fellow Dallas player. "The doctors seem to think he will be able to throw but what happens the first time he's flattened?"
Will Tony Romo help the Cowboys to come back and win a Super Bowl?
"The best way he can do that is for the Cowboys to trade him for a top draft choice", stated the source. "He could help our team that way."
