Bangalore: Indian cricket fans queuing outside Bangalore's cricket stadium "fought" a rare version of the ancient, noble game with police today.
The frustrated fans who had been waiting for 3 days for non-existent tickets decided to start "fast bowling" with anything they could get their hands on at the police; a few no-balls were thrown and bouncers but the police managed to hold their own and returned the missiles with masterly strokes of their bats.
In fact there was even a couple of LBW's, but the police refused to retreat to the pavilion and continued to bat the fans around the head, on their legs and finally into boundary with mighty fours and sixes.
The fans were not seen running between the wickets, but just for their lives as their opponents wielded their bats majestically.
A great game of good old-fashioned cricket played Indian style with only one team who could possibly win, the police.
As for the real game and the lost tickets, they're all in the hands of corrupt betting syndicates knowing that the English team will all get a double dose of the "Delhi Belly". India are firm favourites by the way and not even worth betting on.
