Fred Perry will certainly not be turning in his grave as Britain attempts to find a male Brit who can win the Holy Grail, a tennis Grand Slam.
Scot Andy Murray certainly doesn't fit the bill it seems? Yesterday he had the perfect opportunity to turnover the Serb, but was completely outclassed.
It seems there is something missing in British sportsmen, especially footballers and tennis players? Rowers, cricketers, athletes (some), swimmers (?) seem to be able to conquer the world's best, sometimes, but when it comes to footy or tennis, well, they all seem to be missing something, maybe it's their "balls"? (or maybe thay haven't even got any!)
Andy Murray's mum is naturally devastated as she has nurtured him from the cradle to a Grand Slam final, but it seems she didn't give Andy the thing that most British "top" sportsmen miss, "cojones!"
Andy will join the ranks of wannabee Brit tennis players who bottled at the final hurdle a lá Henman, Rusedski, Bates, the Lloyd brothers, etc. and Fred Perry can rest in his grave until someone finally is born with what he obviously had a lot more of, BALLS! (He could hit them a lot better too, OUCH!)
