Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles lost a dog fight in Chicago, losing 31-26.
... as many sports-related dog metaphors as I first thought.
"It was a beating, an absolute beagle-whupping," said Vick, who was dogged by the Bears' D-line and secondary throughout the game, leading to Vick being sacked 4 times and throwing his first interception since 2006 on a dog-leg pass that was tipped in the red zone by the Bears' defense.
"I think Desean (Jackson)dogged it to the end zone," said Eagles head coach Andy Reid, while eating his 7th Thanksgiving hot-dog with ketchup, mustard, anchovies, Tofurky dressing, buttercream icing and Marinara sauce of the afternoon. "Macklin and Jackson were working like dogs trying to get open, and DeSean dogged it."
The Eagles remain top dogs in the NFC East, despite the Giants making dog meat of the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon.
The Eagles play the Texans on Thursday, then don't have a dog in the fight for a playoff berth until ten days later, when they will lose to the scrappy Dallas Cowboys.
