The Birth Of Nani In Portugal

Happy Harry Rednapp is just not his usual happy self today, as he and most Spurs fans seethe over Nani's controversial goal at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The rising young Portuguese star was reviled by critics following a declined penalty appeal which saw him clearly handle the ball. Thinking that a free kick had been awarded, Spuds keeper Huerelho Gomes took the ball, put it down, and stepped back to take the free kick.

At which point Nani jumped up and cheekily tapped the ball into the Spuds net. Remarkably, referee Mark Clattenburg awarded the goal, and Nani, milking it for all it was worth, celebrated by sticking his tongue out. And running about for a bit.

Spuds fan, Cyril Cockrott, who was at the game seethed:

"That Nani's nuffink but a dirty cheatin' bastard. And that Clattenburg's no better. He wuz in charge when Roy Carroll clearly scooped the ball out of the United net against us, and he didn't give that one either. I hate United mate. Dirty unwashed norvern scum!"

Skoob Sports news managed to speak to somebody claiming to be Nani on a pay as you go mobile phone.

"Ref him no blow whistle. Me kick ball in bladdy net innit. Mister Ferguson, him tell us to always play to the whistle matey peeps. Me score goal and stick bladdy tongue out coz me a bit cheeky boy innit. Simples!"

More as we get it.
