Delhi, India - The nineteenth Commonwealth Games, currently being held in the the sub-continent, have suffered their first major setback when half of the competitors scheduled to compete at these games, withdrew in protest at the appalling standard of accommodation offered in the Games village.

Officials are now in a very extreme state of panic with a major sporting tournament having to be dramatically pared down to fit the reduced numbers.

One Delhi games organiser was heard to utter "My goodness gracious me.

They are all bastards." The number of sports effectively competing at Delhi is now only 8 compared with the originally planned 17.

The Commonwealth Games will now be known as the Compact Games.
