Following an impressive foray into the Europa League last season, Fulham have recently received praise.
Under normal circumstances, this would have been a mere blip in our day; clubs are praised all the time..however, Fulham are not used to this.
The Cottagers' have been a staple of the Premier League for a decade now, and despite never actually adding anything to the division, they have certainly been good sports after losing to Chelsea for the umpteenth time.
This is why the paucity of positives coming their way has been rather striking - I suppose, it is because nobody cares about them...
Anyway, the comment was made by Sepp Blatter, staunch opposer of video-technology, as he claimed that the Londoners were the strongest outfit in English football.
"Fulham is a strong, good club..will inevitably win the Champions League.."
Stop The Press: Blatter has reissued the statement, claiming that the comments were taken out of context, and has revealed that he got mixed up with his clubs, actually referring to Chelsea. Sorry, Fulham fans, I suppose Chelsea are just better...
