The internet...it's a wonderful place where knowledge, wisdom and common-sense are thrown out of the window. But if we've learned anything, it's that real life sometimes is as crazy as Internet life. And that's certainly true of the latest bizarre rumour that all Tennis stars are, in fact, holograms.

That's right, Sampras, Agassi, British ace Henman - and everyone's favourite dyke, Martina Navratilova, are, according to rumour, all holographic.

The rumour started on the hip news website TheSpoof.com, and quickly spread across all major news networks once the story was picked up by Reuters. The rumour suggested that Tennis championships are akin to the 'holodecks' from Star Trek. Huge holographic stadia are produced by 3D graphics designers, and individual hologrammatic players are projected into the grounds.

No tennis stars have as yet responded to the claims, further fuelling the rumour across the internet: "If they don't deny it then it must be true," one internet-based man claimed.

"Once they come out and deny it, then we'll know it's true. They only ever deny stories that are true!" another answered. Until we get a final answer, we're reticent to announce our own feelings about the claim, but we think it's true.

Make KendoMonkey's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
