image for The Pensioners World Boxing Championships

Scottish Boxer Ken Buchanan who was World Light Weight Champion from 1970-72 is planning a comeback at the age of 65 so boxing authorities are now considering a World Boxing Championship for pensioners so you must be 65 or more to compete.

Former Boxer Big Sammy Stewart said " Ken Buchanan was a great champion back in 1970 but if he was to step in to the ring now he would be murdered even against an average fit young boxer so if he wants to make a come back he will need to fight against other pensioners"

If the Pensioners World Boxing Championship gets off the ground the boxers will not need Gum shields they will simply put their false teeth in a jar at the side of the ring.
