Manchester United supremo Sir Alex Ferguson was left fuming at the referee following his team's shock exit in the FA Cup to one time rivals Leeds United.
Five minutes additional time was awarded by the fourth official, but Ferguson fumed "there should have been an extra 23 minutes by my reckoning". "I don't know how these officials arrive at their timings, but with another 23 minutes, we might have at least got an equaliser, and even if we didn't, it would have given me time to think up a few more excuses for this fucking piss poor performance".
Playing to a packed house on the home turf at the Theatre of Nightmares, the Reds were comprehensively outplayed by a spirited and committed Leeds outfit, resplendent in all white.
Leeds boss Simon Grayson was jubilant, "we didn't even get muddy".
Reds fans were bemused at the beginning of the match, when their usually reliable manager arrived at the dugout 23 minutes after the start of the cup tie, by which time his team were already 1-0 behind.
