image for Pompey Whacked By Double Whammy
Could This Be A Red Card For Pompey? Forever?

Pompey's woes continued last night as they were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by freewheeling Arsenal, with goals from Eduardo, Nasri, Ramsey, and Song. Belhadj scored the home team's single riposte.

Portsmouth, languishing at the bottom of the Premiership table were yesterday served papers by the Internal Revenue regarding allegedly unpaid bills, in a move which could see the club fold.

At one point, the famously vociferous Fratton Park crowd chanted "Sack The Board."

Arsenal supporters in the away end could be heard taunting Pompey fans throughout the game, chanting that they all pay their taxes, and asking Pompey what they'd done with their money.

When Portsmouth fans began to stream out of the stadium long before the final whistle, Arsenal fans chanted: "Is this a fire drill?"

In the simultaneous final PL game of the decade, Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic 5-0 leaving a two point gap separating them from Chelsea at the top of the table.

More next year.
