Following last night's capitulation to Lyon at Anfield, Rafa Benitez is a man with huge problems. He faces the very real possibility of bitter rivals Manchester United stuffing his problems down his throat this Sunday, in what will inevitably be called 'Judgement Day'
Benitez, although loved by a certain section of Liverpool fans is thought to be unpopular as far as owners Gillet and Hicks are concerned.
It would appear that they don't think he's up to the job. With Stevie Gerrard coming off last night after 20 minutes last night (no double entendre intended) nursing an injury, things are looking really bleak for the beleaguered Spaniard.
Senor Benitez refused to come to the phone when we called because he was "busy doing some feng shui shit" according to a staffer.
We spoke to Manchester United fan 'Jarbo the Killer' who comes originally from Lower Broughton in Salford. He told us:
"I don't give a shit about Benitez. Or Liverpool. Far as I'm concerned the deeper their crisis the better. I'm not gonna lip off about Sunday. I just hope we shaft 'em. Far as I'm concerned, Benitez is their best manager since Souness. When did they last win the league? 19 years ago? Really? You do surprise me."
More as we get it.
