Earlier this week Micheal Owen, the former Liverpool player in praising Sir Alex Ferguson, added life at Old Trafford was "everything you would expect of a top team, probably the biggest club in the world".
Straight away, Michael Owen has put his foot in it... The Geordie fans can take it, but on the other side of the Pennines, on the banks of the River Mersey, there is 'mither', as Stevie Gerrard has once been heard to say in open Court
Liverpool supporters are up in arms, openly stating:
"Michael Owen is the player he is and has been because of Liverpool's academy. He would do well to remember that. I hope he doesn't play at Anfield, because I just see it as an insult to everyone who helped nurture him. I am sure he won't be prepared for the reception he and his new team will receive!"
"Michael Owen will never be welcome at Anfield again! There was no point trying to back track because we will never respect him again!"
"Stop back tracking your comments you little muppet we haven't forgiven you for leaving and never will, but once you left it made Gerrard and Carragher even bigger and bought the best out of the lads and Torres is way better than you anyhow."
