DETROIT - The Detroit Lions who this past season went 0-16, and set the record for the worst record in the 89 year history of The National Football League have just signed ex-Packers and ex-Jets quarterback Brett Favre.
The 39-year-old Favre who wore green with the Green Bay Packers and green with the New York Jets said that he was mainly curious as to how he would look in blue.
Detroit Lions owner William Clay Ford said that as soon as word got out that he had signed Favre ticket sales went through the roof.
He remarked that more season tickets were sold in just one hour than had been sold the past six months.
One of the Lions fans who purchased two season tickets is Enrico Sangaloochi, 47, who said that he finally has hope that his Lions can make it all the way. Even though the Lions were 0-16 last year, Sangaloochi said that he still cheered them on.
Sangaloochi went on to say that he is such a die-hard Detorit fan that he even named his first born Tiorted Snoil, which is Detroit Lions spelled backwards.
Enrico and Tiorted Snoil Sangaloochi will be sitting on the 50-yard line when the season begins.
Lion's Head Coach Jim Schwartz said that when he heard about Brett Favre's acquisition he was so happy and so excited that he almost peed on himself while driving in his Lexus.
He said that luckily he was able to quickly pull into a McDonalds and buy a Big Mac and use the restroom. He said that when he got home his wife asked him why in the world he had sesame seeds on his zipper.
Detroit Lions guard Toniu Fonoti told a local Detroit TV reporter that now that they have acquired Brett Favre the Lions have a chance to go to Super Bowl.
When asked if maybe he wasn't kind of getting a little bit a head of himself he replied, "Bite me Packer fan."
Coach Schwartz did disclose that he did have a little bit of a problem. It seems that special teams player Jason Hanson wears number 4, which just happens to be Favre's number.
When Hanson learned of the Favre signing he immediately called up Coach Schwartz and told him that there was no way that he was going to give up his jersey number to Favre.
Schwartz said okay and hung up. The coach made a call to New York City. Three minutes later Hanson received a call from Donald Trump who immediately told him "Jason you're fired!"
