A briiliant comeback by Chelsea saw them beat Stoke City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, but there was bad news for many hundreds of the Blues fans who had already walked out of the ground early- they are to have their season tickets confiscated.
The Blues left it very late to make an impact in the game, and trailed 1-0 after 88 minutes to a Rory Delap goal. Then, in a miracle last few minutes, first Juliano Belletti equalised, and then Frank Lampard scored the winner, but hundreds of the Chelsea 'faithful' had already left prematurely to avoid the traffic.
Now though, it appears that those of little faith are to pay for their disloyalty, and Stamford Bridge officials are to study CCTV footage to try and identify the culprits, who will then have their season tickets confiscated.
A spokesman said:
"Everyone knows that by leaving early, you are likely to miss a goal, but these idiots missed two! The fact is, the team needed all the support they could muster, and these fans let Chelsea down. When we identify them, they will not be welcome here anymore."
Chelsea manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, who would have been sacked had his team lost, said:
"They are traitors. They deserve to rot in Hell for their actions."
