Today Southampton Football Club have announced that Sir Richard Branson will take control of the club after they accepted a £40 million bid for the Championship outfit.
Branson has said that "As I am the owner of Virgin Southampton fans will get cheaper flights, train tickets and other Virgin products. Virgin 1 (the tv channel) available on Virgin Media 119, Freeview 20 and Sky 121 will screen every Saints game LIVE home and away, FA cup and league cup. There will also be a website to watch the games live online but it will cost £5 to watch unless you are a Southampton season ticket holder then you will be able to put your season ticket number in and get it for free."
He also said "There will be money available for transfers, there is 2 players I would like to see at the club and those players are Real Madrid's Fabian Cannavaro for about £30m and Kaka who currently plays for AC Milan for about £45m."
He has appointed former player Kevin Keegan as manager and Terry McDermott and his assistant the pair have been together before at Newcastle Utd.
Keegan has said "I am happy to become manager of Southampton after I player there for 2 seasons making 68 appearances and 37 goals."
He is yet to deside who to bring in as his board room staff but there reports that he will bring in former Chairman Leon Crouch as a director and former manager Lawrie McMenemy aswell.
