image for Australia 'Nobbled' Our Team Allegations by Kiwis
"Got him - Yes!"

The New Zealand team claims that the Australians have spiked star batsman Jessie Ryder's beers in order to remove him from the NZ lineup.

Ryder has been laid low by a mystery illness causing him diarrhea and vomiting just days ahead of the series against Australia.

Ryder has been getting into practice for the beer drinking competition that will also take place against the Aussies.

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has laughed at the sabotage idea saying "The Black Caps will be a pushover, why would we need to disable the team?"

Senior TV commentator and Australian great, Richie Benaud said that if the allegations were true it would be the most disgraceful incident since the underarm bowling incident.

But he added that Ponting has been a 'marvellous' Captain for Australia and that it was unlikely that he would allow the team to stoop to anything as low as trying to 'nobble' another team.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
