Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and LA Galaxy freekick-taker David Beckham have been involved in a training session row over a pair of underpants, according to a report on the England football team's website.
The report claims that, Beckham was taking a shower after training on Tuesday, when Rooney, a well-known prankster, hid the former England captain's underpants - apparently, they were his Lucky Underpants - and all hell broke loose.
The two were involved in an angry exchange of words, with Beckham even putting his bottom lip out for a time. He later sulked, and is doubtful for Saturday's World Cup qualifier with Kazakhstan at Wembley.
Rooney denies having taken the underpants.
It was left to coach Fabio Capello to sort out the rumpus.
Having sorted out many a dressing room fracas during his time in Italy, Capello is no stranger to controversy and pouting, babyish footballers, and this was no different. Capello:
"David was upset because his wife Posh bought him this pair of underpants when he first went to Los Angeles. He always wears them for big games, and was worried that someone had stolen them."
Beckham is an extremely superstitious player, and has several 'lucky' items of clothing which he likes to wear, including a 'lucky' sarong, a 'lucky' purple hairband and a 'lucky' Rolex watch.
It's thought that the missing underpants may have been adorned with an unfortunate skidmark - the result of an over-enthusiastic sliding tackle that Beckham performed on little Theo Walcott earlier that day.
