Dimitar Berbatov, the Tottenham striker, who had been expected to sign for Manchester United, has been snapped from under their very noses, by their neighbours, Manchester City!
City boss Mark Hughes said that owner Thaksin Shinawatra told him this morning that, he was selling the club to Abu Dhabi United Group, and that he should sign Berbatov as:
"money is no object."
Hughes slapped in a £30million bid for the Bulgarian, and Spurs, keen to sell the player to a club outside the top four, accepted the bid.
The Bulgarian captain has travelled to Eastlands this afternoon to hold formal discussions with Hughes and the City board before the transfer window closes at midnight tonight.
