Bradley Wiggins, the world record-breaking British cyclist, claimed his second gold medal of the Olympics in the Team Pursuit race this morning, despite getting a puncture halfway through the race.
Wiggins, along with the rest of the British team, Paul Manning, Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas, chased their opponents from Denmark around the Velodrome, almost catching them on the line.
There was near-disaster though for 'Wiggo' when he rode over some bits of glass, and nearly came off the bike as his tyre 'flapped about' on the wheel rim.
Ever the consummate professional, Wiggo rode wilfully on, not wanting to let his teammates down. The four broke the previous world record by nearly two seconds to claim Team GB's 12th gold medal.
Interviewed by the BBC's Jill Douglas afterwards, Wiggins said:
"It was murder! You never saw it on the TV, but me chain came off as well!"
